Försvarsmaktens logistiksystem ingår i samarbetsnätverk som är inte bara nationellt utan också internationellt. I en modern verksamhetsmiljö förutsätts samverkan med utländska aktörer i alla beredskapslägen för att göra Försvarsmaktens verksamhet möjlig.

5.11.2025 | The agreement enables the procurement of tactical communication systems and products, software-defined radios, secure software, and telephones, as well as joint product development.

11.8.2025 | Representanter från högkvarteret för de amerikanska försvarsgrenschefernas råd (US Joint Chiefs of Staff, USJS) och försvarsgrenarnas logistikledning besökte Finland 7–9.8.2025. Värd för besöket var Försvarsmaktens logistik- och materielchef, generallöjtnant Jari Mikkonen.

4.9.2025 | On September 3, 2025, the Finnish Defense Forces Logistics Command and Forcit signed an agreement on the procurement of TNT explosives.

6.8.2025 | Under det resterande året deltar Förenta staterna i stor omfattning i övningsverksamhet och med militär närvaro i Finland och Östersjöområdet.

9.6.2025 | General Bryan P. Fenton, befälhavare för United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), besökte Finland den 7 juni. Värd för besöket var generallöjtnant Kari Nisula, Försvarsmaktens operationschef. General Fenton träffade även Försvarsmaktens kommendör, general Janne Jaakkola.

7.8.2024 | Stabsförhandlingar mellan Försvarsmakten och Förenta staternas europeiska kommando (United States European Command, USEUCOM) fördes vid Huvudstaben den 6–7 augusti 2024. Stabsförhandlingarna leddes av Huvudstabens planeringschef, brigadgeneral Tero Ylitalo och brigadgeneral Quaid Quadri Jr. som är biträdande chef strategisk planering och prestanda vid ledningen för Förenta staternas trupper i Europa.

24.1.2024 | Finland utvecklar sitt bilaterala partnerskap med Förenta staterna inom cyberförsvar. För att stärka verksamheten godkände och undertecknade parterna ett avtal om gemensamt cyberförsvar (Letter of Intent, LOI) i dag den 24 januari i Helsingfors. Evenemanget leddes av Försvarsmaktens operationschef, generalmajor Kari Nisula. Från Förenta staterna deltog biträdande operationschefen vid ledningen för Förenta staternas styrkor i Europa, brigadgeneral James D. Cleet med sitt sällskap.

Foreign citizens who have gained Finnish citizenship and who have completed the compulsory peacetime military service of his/her former home country, or a portion of if (at least four (4) months) can upon application be exempted from military service in peacetime. Decisions regarding exemption are made by the regional offices.

25.11.2024 | Bittium Wireless Ltd, a subsidiary of Bittium Corporation, and the Finnish Defence Forces have signed a Partnership Agreement for the years 2025–2036. The Partnership Services to be purchased under the agreement apply to the life cycle setup and maintenance of the command-and-control systems produced/manufactured by Bittium and used by the Finnish Defence Forces.

Finland is party to several agreements and arrangements concerning conventional arms control, such as The Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons (CCW), The Arms Trade Treaty (ATT), and The Ottawa Treaty.

International military crisis management and co-operation on bilateral, Nordic and European level as well as Nato partnership creates Finnish Defence Forces basis for international activities and networking.

The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) is a regional security organisation with 57 participating states.

17.4.2026 | As a member of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), Finland has ratified the Vienna Document 2011 (VD11), which is one of the effective arms control agreements. Pursuant to this document, Finland arranged 14th to 17th of April for the OSCE member states a visit to the bases of the Karelian Air Command and the Karelia Brigade.

2.4.2025 | Norway and Denmark have joined the framework agreements enabled by the military optronics Implementing Arrangement signed in April 2024. Nordic cooperation is now expanding with the signing of a new Implementing Arrangement in the field of Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I). At the same time, new FISE framework agreements were signed for the procurement of unmanned ground surveillance sensors and cognitive HF radios.
