25.9.2024 | The 80th anniversary of the Finnish Defence Forces auctions will be celebrated in Tampere on 9-10 October in conjunction with the autumn auction of SA Kauppa . The two-day auction will feature around 550 items of decommissioned Defence Forces material. All items to be auctioned will be sold marked as scrap. The material to be sold is no longer suitable for military use due to its condition or other reasons.

14.6.2017 | For fifty times now military athletes have competed for the CISM World Military Orienteering Championships. Of these fifty venues, Finland has hosted the championships for six times, and Sweden, Norway as well as Brazil each for five times.

7.6.2018 | The World Military Sailing Championship 2018 (WMSC2018) will be held in Suomenlinna, Helsinki between 14.-21.6. The event is organised by the Finnish Naval Academy in cooperation with the International Military Sports Council (CISM).

9.10.2017 | A National Memorial to the Winter War will be unveiled on the Kasarmitori Square in Helsinki on 30 November 2017.

30.1.2018 | In February 2018 it will be 100 years since the foundation of the Field Artillery of Independent Finland and the Artillery School. The Finnish Defence Forces honour their 100th anniversary with an artillery equipment display in Helsinki on 9 February.

16.11.2017 | This year's Independence Day marks the 100th anniversary of Finland becoming an independent state. The theme of the parade is National defence is everybody's business.

8.2.2022 | The Heritage Anniversary of the Artillery School is celebrated on 7 February. This February, the Artillery School celebrated its Heritage Anniversary on a small scale in the absence of guests as a precautionary measure due to the pandemic.
