The 2nd Logistics Regiment supports the administrative units of the Defence Forces and the Border Guard in the organisation of logistics and support in all states of readiness. As for its special features, the Regiment conducts maintenance tasks related to the Navy’s special materiel and services involving clothing, tents and field accommodation, field provisioning and medical materiel in the Defence Forces.

14.11.2024 | The Guard Battalion, a sub-unit of the Guard Jaeger Regiment, will organize the combat exercise Uusimaa 24 in the areas of Porvoo, Sipoo, Tuusula and Helsinki on 20-26 November 2024. The exercise will be led by Commander of the Guard Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Jouni Suokas.

22.8.2024 | The Guard Jaeger Regiment will lead the Kehä 24 local defence exercise in the Helsinki metropolitan area and the region of Uusimaa from 31 August to 6 September 2024. The exercise will focus on local defence and cooperation with other authorities.

15.2.2024 | The Guard Jaeger Regiment -led local defence exercise Kehä 24, the first one this year, will be held during 3.–8.3.2024 in Eastern Uusimaa. The strength of the training audience will be up to c. 1,000 personnel comprising conscripts, reservists, and service personnel. The exercise will be commanded by Deputy Commander of the Guard Jaeger Regiment, Colonel Vesa Laitonen.

31.10.2023 | The army's mechanized exercise Hammer 23 has begun with the main forces moving to Pohjankangas between Sunday and Monday. The co-operation between practicing troops will be the key element in the combat phase which begins on Wednesday 1st of November. The exercise starts by unit’s independent training phase where each unit practices independently for the last time before the combat phase begins. It’s important to practice every last detail in this phase so every unit is in its full potential.

27.12.2024 | Skills required in winter circumstances will be trained again at the Jaeger Brigade on the Winter Combat Course from 4 to 17 January 2025. In addition to Finnish soldiers, 12 foreign soldiers from the USA, Canada, France and Great Britain will take part on the course.

22.2.2022 | Local defence exercise Kehä 1/22 led by the Guard Jaeger Regiment will be organized in the area of Uusimaa from 6 to 11 March 2022. The strength of the training units will be around 740 consisting of conscripts, reservists and regular personnel. The exercise will be directed by the Deputy Commander of the Guard Jaeger Regiment, Colonel Vesa Laitonen.

8.2.2022 | The combat uniform manufactured by Oskar Pedersen AS, Norway has been chosen as the common Nordic Combat Uniform for Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark. The first combat uniforms will be fielded in the Defence Forces starting from 2023.

19.5.2023 | From 26 May to 2 June 2023, the field training exercise Sapeli 23 led by the Guard Jaeger Regiment will be held in the capital region and in the area of Eastern Uusimaa. The FTX drill areas will include Helsinki, Vantaa, Porvoo, Järvenpää, Sipoo, Tuusula, Loviisa ja Pornainen. The exercise will be commanded by Commander of the Jaeger Regiment, Colonel Asko Kopra.
