Open Regional Aeronautical Pentathlon 2024 Championship

16.6.2025 | This year, the Open Regional Military Championships in Naval Pentathlon will take place in Finland, in the Upinniemi garrison on 23-28 June. The local organiser is the Coastal Brigade. The umbrella organization of military sports, International Military Sports Council (CISM), coordinates the organisation of championships and makes sure the rules are being followed.

20.3.2025 | The CISM Military World Winter Games will be held in Switzerland during 24–29 March 2025. From Finland, the sporting competition will be participated by a 10-strong delegation comprising both conscripts and service personnel from the Finnish Defence Forces and the Finnish Border Guard.

2.12.2024 | On 1 December 2024 Brigadier General Timo Herranen assumed the role of Commander of the Finnish Air Force.

21.6.2023 | The Guard Jaeger Regiment will organize the 60th Open Nordic Military Pentathlon Championship in Helsinki 26-30 June 2023.

7.6.2019 | The Guard Jaeger Regiment will organise the 58th Open Nordic Military Pentathlon Championships in Helsinki 24-28 June 2019.

17.9.2018 | Altogether nearly 200 competitors will be attending. The competitors will include a number of top-level orienteerers, such as World Championship and European Championship gold medalist Marika Teini as well as Olli-Markku Teini who competes as part of the Finnish National Team in Orienteering for the eight year now, and the top-level orienteerers Timo Sild and Lauri Sild from Estonia, to name only a few.

26.1.2017 | The Finnish Defence Forces will host the International Military Sports Council’s (CISM) 50th World Military Orienteering Championship (WMOC) from 10-16 June 2017 in the town and municipality of Hamina. In this jubilee event, the WMOC competition programme features competitions in three distances: Middle distance, Long distance, and Relay.
