Striking-capable delegation from Finland to the CISM Military World Winter Games in Switzerland
The CISM Military World Winter Games will be held in Switzerland during 24–29 March 2025. From Finland, the sporting competition will be participated by a 10-strong delegation comprising both conscripts and service personnel from the Finnish Defence Forces and the Finnish Border Guard.
The Finnish delegation consists of service personnel and three conscripts from the Finnish Defence Forces and the Finnish Border Guard. The Finnish athletes will participate in cross-country, XC-skiing (TUE 25.3), biathlon (TUE 25.3), team sprint XC-skiing (WED 26.3), ski orienteering (WED 26.3 and THU 27.3), and patrol race (FRI 28.3).
The skiers include Sergeants Ville Ahonen, Arsi Ruuskanen and Remi Lindholm, as well as Senior Border Guard Markus Vuorela, who achieved their best results so far at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships completed recently. The biathlon athletes in the Finnish Delegation are Corporal Jimi Klemettinen, silver-medalist at the Biathlon Junior World Championships, as well as Sergeant Tuomas Harjula, Corporal Arttu Heikkinen and Senior Border Guard Erika Jänkä who have competed in the IBU Biathlon World Cup as part of the Finnish national team.

To be participated by up to c. 1,400 athletes representing 43 nations, the sporting competition will include several world champions and medalists in cross-country-skiing and biathlon. Previously, the CISM World Winter Games were held in Germany in 2022.
