Executive Office
The Executive Office supports the work of the Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces and the leadership of the Defence Command. The Executive Office is responsible for the Defence Command’s planning and preparation duties relating to brigade-level unit affairs, and executes joint tasks of the Defence Command in both normal and emergency conditions as commanded by the leadership.
Primary tasks of the Defence Command’s Executive Office are:
- Supporting the Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces and the leadership of the Defence Command.
- Operational readiness and security of the Defence Command.
- Communication with personnel serving in international duties (with the exception of those serving in crisis management tasks) and Defence Attachés accredited to Finland.
- Matters relating to Defence Command personnel, document management, readiness, security and safety, information management, protocol, logistics, procurement, finance and real estate.
The Executive Office is led by the Chief of the Executive Office. The Executive Office includes five sections: personnel, planning, operations, leadership support and protocol. The Chief of the Executive Office is also the administrative superior of the heads of the Public Information Division, Internal Audit Unit and Technical Inspection Division.
