MILjazz 2025: Festival atmosphere and music from around the world!
The Finnish Defence Forces' MILjazz tour is coming again, this summer with an even more international lineup! The feel-good outdoor event in 11 cities kicks off on May 30, offering something for everyone, from blues to pop and rock to soul.
During the tour, music will play between 6pm and 10pm. In all cities, the Air Force Big Band will take the stage to entertain the MILjazz audience, with the sparkling Iina Salin as the soloist. In addition, a regional military band also performs at each location. The tour program is diversified by the German Army's Die Big Band der Bundeswehr, which will perform in Lappeenranta, Kouvola and Lahti, and the international NATO Jazz Orchestra, which will delight the audience in Oulu.
At these events, in addition to enjoying music, you will be able to learn about conscript service and women’s voluntary military service. The brigade-level units will organize equipment displays to showcase the Defence Forces’ modern equipment.
This year, the tour will be divided into two parts. The first part runs from the end of May until midsummer and the second takes place in early August. After the first two stops, the MILjazz 2025 tour will continue to Kuopio on 4 June, where the event will be part of the diverse Finnish Defence Forces Flag Celebration Day program.
