The Finnish Army will participate in the exercise Northern Wind 2019 (NW19) to be organised by the Swedish Army in Norrbotten, Northern Sweden, from 18 to 29 March 2019.

Arranged at the Utti Jaeger Regiment, the Special Forces Qualification Course provides you with the type of training that is interesting, versatile, and challenging. Completing the course will qualify you to apply for Special Jaeger Non-Commissioned Officer posts.

The Norwegian-led Cold Response 26 -exercise will convene up to c. 7,500 soldiers in Finland and c. 25,000 soldiers in Norway from altogether 14 nations. In Finland, the exercise activity will focus on the Finnish Defence Forces’ exercise area at Rovajärvi but forces will be on the move across northern Finland.

7.10.2019 | Early September, the Jaeger Brigade began training combat engineer troops in the Lapland Jaeger Battalion in Sodankylä. The Jaeger Brigade provided this training previously in 1996.

31.5.2024 | The international combat exercise held in Rovajärvi brought together nearly 6,500 soldiers from Finland, the United States, and Norway, as well as staff personnel from Sweden. The main objective of the exercise was to enhance the interoperability of the participating nations' ground forces in the challenging terrain conditions of Northern Finland.
