Finland to conduct inspection visit to Ukraine

Finland will conduct a confidence-and-security-building inspection conform to the OSCE Vienna Document 2011 to Ukraine from 4 to 8 February 2019.

The inspection team consists of two Finnish one Estonian and one Danish officer. The inspection team will be led by major Antti-Ville Rusanen from Defence Command Finland.

The area being inspected is located is in the Southern part of Ukraine, north of the Crimean Peninsula.

The goal of the inspection is to verify the information about the inspection area that Ukraine has supplied to the OSCE countries. The aim of the inspection is to establish that there are no such ongoing military activities in the area designated for inspection that according to the Vienna Document should have been made prior notification of.
