23.8.2022 | Local defence exercise Naantali-Raisio 22 is led by the Pori Brigade and it will gather approximately 1,200 persons to train together in the Naantali and Raisio area 4-9 September 2022. In addition to Pori Brigade, authorities, businesses and actors from the region will be participating in the exercise, as well as the towns of Naantali and Raisio.

29.7.2022 | In Finland, the Army has organized large training entities which are part of additional international exercise and training activities. Finnish troops have also participated in many international exercises. The main objective of international exercises is to integrate and learn from other forces’ procedures, but for an individual soldier, they are much more than that. In international exercises, you get to train and experience new things that a conscript would not otherwise encounter.

9.4.2025 | The training exercise entity of the Army will start at the end of April to continue until early June in all of Finland. The exercises will strengthen the alliance’s ability for joint operating, build-up of combat power, and its concentration across Finland.

10.4.2025 | The Armoured Brigade will lead the Army mechanized exercise Mighty Arrow 25 at the Pohjankangas Firing Range and Training Area in Niinisalo from 24 April to 13 May. Approximately 2800 persons will take part in the exercise, most of them conscripts and about 700 international troops.

10.2.2025 | The Army will organise the local defence exercises during 18.2.–7.3. this spring. From the Defence Forces, the altogether six local defence exercises will be participated by up to c. 3,000 conscripts, reservists, and service personnel, as well as more than 400 vehicles in total. As is characteristic for local defence exercises, the training audience will also include a significant number of other authorities and business sector stakeholders.

13.5.2022 | During the exercises that start on Friday 13th May, the troops will train, among other things, protection of maritime traffic, generation of situation picture as well as coastal combat tasks and the use of fire. The training will continue until the end of next week and it will be commanded by Finnish Navy Commander, Rear Admiral Jori Harju.

16.4.2024 | The Armoured Brigade will lead the Army mechanized exercise Arrow 24 at the Pohjankangas Firing Range and Training Area in Niinisalo from 26 April to 14 May. Approximately 2600 persons will take part in the exercise, most of them conscripts and about 300 international troops.

13.5.2024 | The Guard Jaeger Regiment will lead the Sapeli 1/24 exercise in South Finland on 24–31 May 2024. The exercise will involve ca. 4,900 soldiers and ca. 900 vehicles, which will also include battle tanks and infantry fighting vehicles.

16.11.2023 | Almost 3300 persons comprising conscripts, reservists and Defence Forces service personnel will participate in this military exercise stretching from Helsinki to Niinisalo in Kankaanpää in late November- early December. Troops from the Army, Navy, Defence Forces Logistics Command and the Finnish Defence Forces C5 Agency subordinate to the Defence Command will take part in the exercise.
