On 1 July 2025, it is 100 years since the beginning of ground-based air defence training in Finland. The Defence Forces honours the 100 year-old ground-based air defence branch by organising the Ground-Based Air Defence 100 Years event in Helsinki on 1 July. Admission to the event is free.

12.12.2016 | The Military Museum's exhibition location at Liisankatu 1 had to be closed down in spring 2015 because of poor indoor air quality. That is why the museum's exhibitions have temporarily been relocated to Maneesi on Suomenlinna. Maneesi is open every day 11-18 during the winter season.

13.6.2025 | On 1 July 2025, it is 100 years since the beginning of ground-based air defence training in Finland. 25.9.2024 | The 80th anniversary of the Finnish Defence Forces auctions will be celebrated in Tampere on 9-10 October in conjunction with the autumn auction of SA Kauppa . The two-day auction will feature around 550 items of decommissioned Defence Forces material. All items to be auctioned will be sold marked as scrap. The material to be sold is no longer suitable for military use due to its condition or other reasons.

20.5.2024 | The participation of the Finnish Defence Forces in the European Union Training Mission in Mali (EUTM-M) has ended on 18 May by decision of the EU. The Finnish peacekeepers returned home on Sunday 19 May 2024.

8.2.2022 | The Heritage Anniversary of the Artillery School is celebrated on 7 February. This February, the Artillery School celebrated its Heritage Anniversary on a small scale in the absence of guests as a precautionary measure due to the pandemic.
