17.4.2026 | As a member of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), Finland has ratified the Vienna Document 2011 (VD11), which is one of the effective arms control agreements. 28.3.2026 | Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Pasi Välimäki was on a working visit to Ukraine last week. The visit focused on the areas of Kiev, Dnipro, and Zaporizhzhia. During the visit, Lieutenant General Välimäki met leadership of the Ukrainian Army, and took note of the operating of the land forces as well as command echelons of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and new capabilities. The purpose is to enhance interoperability among NATO member countries by standardising common doctrines and the associated terminology.
