The Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces, General Timo Kivinen, will take part in the meeting of the European Union Military Committee in Brussels on 26 October.
The committee convenes twice a year to discuss topical issues related to European defence. This meeting will also be the 20th anniversary meeting of the Military Committee. The meeting will be attended by the senior military commanders in the European Union.
During his visit, General Kivinen will meet the leadership of the European Union Military Staff and the European Defence Agency.
The Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces will be accompanied in the meetings and appointments by Finland’s military representative to the EU, Major General Mikko Heiskanen, the General’s ADC, Major Annukka Ylivaara as well as advisers working in Finland’s Representation.
