The President of the Republic has promoted Medical Colonel Tuomo Leino to Brigadier General Medical since 1 April 2026.
On the same date, Medical Brigadier General Tuomo Kaarlo Leino will take up his position as Chief Surgeon of the Defence Forces. He has previously served as the Air Force's chief Surgeon, administrative Chief Surgeon at the Defence Command Finland and as Chief physician at the Centre for Military Medicine. He is a medical doctor. Leino was promoted to medical colonel 4.6.2021.
