6.11.2025 | Allied Joint Publication (AJP)-01, Allied Joint Doctrine is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) capstone doctrine for Allied joint operations and activities. Finland has now published AJP-01 FI with Finnish National Elements. The doctrine is meant especially for regular personnel of the Finnish Defence Forces and for reservists and conscripts, but the document is public and available from the Finnish Defence Forces website.

Exercise Atrain 23, led by the Coastal Brigade, will be held 26 May - 2 June 2023. The exercise activities will concentrate on the coast of the Gulf of Finland and the sea areas between the Hanko Peninsula and Hamina.

16.4.2024 | Army training and exercise activity will be conducted across Finland between the end of April and the beginning of June. The Army will be training in extensive force entities and developing the capacity for bilateral and multilateral joint operations with the Allies.

22.5.2021 | The mortar company of the Jaeger Brigade has continued conducting live fires in the exercise Northern Forest 21. This involves two fire platoons as well as the combat service supply and HQ platoons. During the exercise, the mortar platoons got to operate the heavy mortar 120KRH92 to fire smoke and fragmentation grenades. 

20.5.2022 | In List22, the conscripts from the Kainuu Artillery Regiment operate the light rocket launcher professionally. By now, they have completed nearly a year of the conscript service, and currently they undertake final training prior to being mustered out in June 2022.

Along busy on-duty shifts, the tasks also include, for instance, ensuring that the heating system for the field hospital runs as expected to ensure maintaining optimal patient care facilities while in the field.

As of early 2022, the piloting will include all brigade-level units providing training to persons liable for military service excluding the FAF air commands. The objective is to get information on the effectiveness of shared accommodation in brigade-level units of varying strength across Finland.

19.5.2021 | The exercise Northern Forest 21 of the Army was set in operation on Wednesday 19 May 2021 as the artillery firing began.

13.3.2023 | On 15 March 2023, conscripts who have served in special duties will be mustered out on 15 March 2023, a total of 1346 persons, of whom 101 are women.
