6.11.2025 | Allied Joint Publication (AJP)-01, Allied Joint Doctrine is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) capstone doctrine for Allied joint operations and activities. Finland has now published AJP-01 FI with Finnish National Elements. The doctrine is meant especially for regular personnel of the Finnish Defence Forces and for reservists and conscripts, but the document is public and available from the Finnish Defence Forces website.

21.10.2024 | Karelia Air Wing will organise the final exercise of the unit training phase (JPH 2/24) of the Finnish Air Force’s conscripts mustering out in December 2024. The exercise will take place at Rissala Air Base and Joensuu airport on 22‒28 November 2024.

26.11.2021 | Tabling their report on 26.11.2021, the parliamentary committee on liability for military service presents a proposal for age-group-wide call-ups, as well as measures for increasing the number of persons completing military service and developing the reserve. The Finnish Defence Forces meets the development and set objectives with an open and positive response. The report provides good guidelines for the FDF for developing training and the system of liability for military service.

21.5.2019 | Exercise Saber 19, led by the Guard Jaeger Regiment, is held in the Uusimaa region. The exercise is the final exercise of the conscripts who began their military service in January and are serving in rank-and-file duties, and for those conscript leaders, high-level readiness unit members and military drivers who began their service in July. Also participating in the exercise, is a light infantry unit of approximately 120 soldiers from the United Kingdom.

15.6.2022 | Altogether nearly up to 8,600 conscripts from the brigade level units of the Finnish Defence Forces and Border Guard will muster out into the reserve on Thursday 16 June 2022. In the Finnish Defence Forces, readiness for the set main task, i.e. military national defence of Finland, will be sustained in all situations.

20.5.2022 | In List22, the conscripts from the Kainuu Artillery Regiment operate the light rocket launcher professionally. By now, they have completed nearly a year of the conscript service, and currently they undertake final training prior to being mustered out in June 2022.
