Finnish Defence Forces organizes two parades a year: on the Flag Day 4th June and on the Independence Day 6th December. The parades offer the public a view to the military troops, vessels and material.

3.11.2025 | The Finnish Defence Forces will celebrate the 108th Independence Day of Finland by way of a national parade on 6 December in Kouvola. The theme of the parade is We defend Finland together. The review of troops will take place at Kouvola Finnish baseball stadium, and the pass in review on Salpausselänkatu. The Finnish Defence Forces’ and other agencies’ equipment and activity will be available for familiarisation at Sumulaakso. The events are free of charge.

NATO’s Multi-Corps Land Component Command Northwest (MCLCC-NW) celebrates its official inauguration on the 3rd of October, 2025, in Mikkeli. The flags of the current nations for the Core Staff Element are raised together with the NATO flag.

11.8.2025 | The Finnish Defence Forces participated together with the Swedish Armed Forces in the demanding multinational Cyber Flag 25-2 cyber defense exercise held from July 7 to 16. The exercise was organized by the United States Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM) in Suffolk (Joint Warfighting Center), Virginia.

12.3.2025 | The national parade on the Flag Day of the Finnish Defence Forces will be held on Wednesday, 4 June 2025 in Kuopio. Karelia Air Wing, in cooperation with the City of Kuopio, is responsible for organising the event. The parade is part of Kuopio's celebrations marking its 250th anniversary this year.

13.1.2026 | The Multi-Corps Land Component Command’s (MCLCC) core staff element now includes a staff officer from the Netherlands. The core staff element comprises 12 personnel from Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, the U.S.A., and the Netherlands.

20.5.2024 | The Finnish Defence Forces participated together with the Swedish Armed Forces in the top-tier multinational Cyber Defence Exercise Cyber Flag 24-1 from 12 to 18 May. The exercise was organized by United States Cyber Command in Joint Base Suffolk, Virginia. In addition to training US cyber protection teams, cyber operators from 18 NATO allies and partners trained their skills and improved their knowledge in detecting cyber threats and identifying solutions to protect networks.
