The theme of the parade is We defend Finland together. The review of troops will take place at Kouvola Finnish baseball stadium, and the pass in review on Salpausselänkatu. The Finnish Defence Forces’ and other agencies’ equipment and activity will be available for familiarisation at Sumulaakso. The events are free of charge.

11.11.2024 | The national parade on the Independence Day of Finland is to be held in Lappeenranta on 6 December. The theme of the parade is National defence from generation to generation. The review of troops will take place at Kimpinen stadium, and the pass in review on Ainonkatu. The Finnish Defence Forces’ and other agencies’ equipment and activity will be on display at Satamatori square. The events are free of charge.

26.4.2023 | The Finnish Air Force will fly an F/A-18 Hornet flypast at the Three-Country Cairn on the border of Finland, Sweden and Norway in Kilpisjärvi on 27 April 2023.

20.5.2024 | The National Parade of the Flag Day of the Finnish Defence Forces will be held in Hanko on 4 June 2024. In addition to a review of troops and pass in review, the programme also includes an equipment display, boat rides, an aerobatic air display and a MILjazz Tour concert, among other things. Admission to the events is free.

20.4.2022 | On 27 April 2022, a monument unveiling ceremony in honour of Mannerheim Cross Knight Tuomas Gerdt will be held at the Tuomas Gerdt Park in Lauritsala, Lappeenranta. The event will start at 16:30.

The review of troops will be arranged on Hamina sports field and the pass in review on Kadettikoulunkatu. The Finnish Defence Forces’ and other agencies’ equipment will be on display for familiarisation at the square of the Finnish Flag. The events will be free of charge.

12.5.2023 | The national parade on the Flag Day of the Finnish Defence Forces will be held in Jyväskylä on Sunday 4 June 2023. Along the review of troops and pass in review, the programme will also include a Midnight Hawks air show, a MILjazz concert, and an equipment display in the activities field, among other things. Admission to the events is free.

18.11.2021 | The Finnish Defence Forces will celebrate the Finnish Independence Day by a national parade, part of heritage, in Lahti. The review of troops will take place at Kisapuisto Stadium and the pass-in-review on Vapaudenkatu. The Finnish Defence Forces’ equipment will be on display for familiarisation at Lahti market square. The arrangements of the event will consider the regional restrictions concerning public events to ensure sustained health security.

11.5.2022 | The national parade on the Flag Day of the Finnish Defence Forces will be held in Helsinki on 4 June 2022. Along the review of troops and pass in review, the programme will also include an equipment display, and the Finnish Defence Forces’ summer tour concert, among others. All events will have free admission.

8.11.2023 | President Martti Oiva Kalevi Ahtisaari will be laid to rest on St Martin’s Day, Friday 10 November 2023. The Finnish Defence Forces will be in charge of their respected former commander-in-chief’s full military honours at the state funeral.
