Commander of the Defence forces to Canada
On 8 August, the Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces, General Timo Kivinen, will participate in a meeting in Canada with the commanders of the armed forces of the countries operating in the Arctic region.
The meeting will be hosted by General Wayne Eyre, commander of the Canadian Armed Forces, and the meeting will be attended by defence chiefs of the armed forces of arctic countries.
The purpose of the meeting is to promote the exchange of information and cooperation between the armed forces of the countries operating in the Arctic region. Through presentations and discussions with experts, the meeting delegates will be able to share their views on the security situation in the Arctic operating environment and discuss the opportunities for cooperation and the future prospects of the Arctic region.
From the Defence Forces, the Commander of the Defence Forces Adjutant, Lieutenant Colonel Antti Montonen, will also attend the meeting.
