  6. 7.11.2025 | 13-17 October, FINCENT conducted a mixed learning iteration of the Advance UN Field Operations Security Management Course (UNFOSMP) at the UN Office in Nairobi, Kenya. Mixed learning is a combination of residential classroom lectures at the UN Office premises, combined with learners participating online and working together through a web-based platform. 24 learners attended the Advance course, 19 residential and 5 online.

  8. In war and crisis situations, the Finnish Defence Forces needs an ability to dispose of explosives at the bottom of the sea and on the ground. These technically demanding and lengthy course entities are not ones that can be completed in a minimum of time, so the needed competence should already be available. Hiring high-quality professional units on a permanent basis would, however, take up a big slice out of the defence budget.

  9. 30.10.2025 | The Finnish Defence Forces has released a new data and AI strategy designed to guide the organisation towards data-centric command and control and strengthened information and knowledge management. Beginning in 2025, the FDF will cooperate with NestAI to accelerate the development of AI capabilities. Working with leading companies will also help build the ecosystem for the FDF AI Centre of Excellence, which is planned to be operational at the start of 2026.
