Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces to visit Belgium
The Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces, General Timo Kivinen, will take part in the meeting of the European Union Military Committee to be held on 20-21 November. The meeting will be attended by the senior military commanders in the European Union.
In its two-day meeting, the Military Committee will discuss topical issues related to European defence. In the meeting, General Kivinen will give a presentation on digitalisation and artificial intelligence in defence, which is the theme of Finland’s Presidency of the European Union.
In addition, the Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces will be accompanied in the meetings and appointments by Finland’s military representative to the EU, Rear Admiral Juha Vauhkonen, the General’s ADC, Major Annukka Ylivaara as well as advisers working in Finland’s Representation.
During his visit, General Kivinen will also meet Finland’s EU representative in the EU Political and Security Committee and Finland’s NATO ambassador.
