High Command of the U.S. Armed Forces and Russian Armed Forces to meet in Helsinki
The Finnish Defence Forces will organise a meeting opportunity for the High Command of the U.S. Armed Forces and the Russian Armed Forces in Helsinki on Friday 8 June 2018.
The meeting is to take place on the initiative of the United States and Russia. No representatives of the Finnish Defence Forces will attend the meeting.
The U.S Armed Forces’ delegation will be led by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Joseph F. Dunford Jr. and the Russian Armed Forces’ delegation by Chief of the General Staff, General of the Army Valery Gerasimov. General Dunford and General of the Army Gerasimov will also have separate bilateral meetings with the President of the Republic of Finland Sauli Niinistö as well as the Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces, General Jarmo Lindberg.
