Russia makes an evaluation visit to Karelia Air Command

In accordance with the OSCE Vienna Document 2011, Russia is carrying out an inspection to increase confidence and security during an evaluation visit to the Karelia Air Command on 1 September 2021. The evaluation team consists of three people and they have diplomatic status.

The objective of the evaluation visit is to establish whether Finland's annual military information exchange report on Karelia Air Command based on the Vienna Treaty in 2011, is in line with the information now presented to the evaluation team.

The evaluation visit is hosted by the Commander of the Karelia Air Command, Colonel Aki Puustinen.

The evaluation visit will be in accordance with the general COVID-19 precautions of the Finnish Government and the Finnish Defence Forces and to some extent the COVID-19 guidance regarding the Finnish Defence Forces' international activities.
