The Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces, General Jarmo Lindberg, will attend the EU Military Committee meeting on 17 May and the NATO Military Committee meeting for Partnership for Peace countries on 18 May. Both meetings will be attended by the high command of EU, NATO and Partnership for Peace countries.
On the agendas are the crisis management operations led by the European Union and NATO, the European Union's security strategy and security and safety as well as developments in the European security situation in general.
Following these two meetings, the Finnish CHOD will head for Denmark to attend the conference "Nordic Ways of War and Peace" held in Copenhagen on 19 May. General Lindberg has been invited to the conference by the Royal Danish Defence College.
During his visits, the general will meet the Finnish ambassador to Denmark, Finland's NATO and EU ambassadors and he will discuss current issues with personnel working in the Mission of Finland to NATO and Finland's Permanent Representation to the European Union.
In addition to advisers that work in Finland's representations, the general will be accompanied by Finland's military representative to the EU and NATO, Lieutenant General Markku Nikkilä, stationed in Brussels, as well as by his ADC, Major Timo Ronkainen.
