The Commander of NATO's Allied Command Transformation (ACT), General Denis Mercier will conduct a working visit to Finland on 22-23 June 2016.23 June 2016. The visit will be hosted by the Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces, General Jarmo Lindberg.
During the visit General Mercier will meet with Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Security Policy, Ms Anne Sipiläinen and with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, Mr Jukka Juusti among others. He will also be familiarised with Finland's military national defence by visiting Defence Command Finland in Helsinki and Karelia Air Command in Kuopio.
General Denis Mercier was confirmed by the North Atlantic Council as Supreme Allied Commander Transformation on 23 March 2015. He assumed command six months later, in September 2015. General Mercier's visit to Finland is one of the normal visits to familiarise commanders with the operating environment and activities in the area.
