The Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces, General Jarmo Lindberg, and his spouse, will be paying an official visit to Sweden 31 May- 1 June 2016. The visit is hosted by the Supreme Commander of the Swedish Armed Forces, General Micael Bydén.
During the visit General Lindberg will be familiarised with the Swedish Armed Forces and he will meet its highest military leadership. During the visit he will also meet with the Swedish Minister of Defence, Mr Peter Hultqvist and the Finnish Ambassador to Sweden, Mr Jarmo Viinanen.
Discussion topics during the visit include the developments in the security situation of Europe and of the Baltic Sea in particular, and the development of bilateral defence cooperation between Sweden and Finland from a military perspective.
Included in the programme is also General Lindberg's inspection of the Guard of Honour set by the Swedish Royal Life Guards Regiment and a wreath laying to honour Swedish veterans.
The General will be accompanied by the Finnish Defence Forces Deputy Chief of Staff Strategy, Major General Timo Kivinen, Finland's Military Attaché for Sweden, Colonel Manu Tuominen and the CHOD's ADC, Major Timo Ronkainen.
