Independence Day wreath laying ceremony in Kuopio at Sankaripuisto park and Hatsala cemetery

The traditional Independence Day wreath laying ceremony will take place at the Sankaripuisto park and the adjoining Hatsala cemetery in Kuopio on 6 December 2017 beginning at 9:00 am.

Personnel from the Rissala garrison as well as representatives of veterans’ and national defence organisations will attend the ceremony. In the ceremony, wreaths will be laid on the following memorials:

  • Haavoittunut sotilas ("Wounded Soldier")
  • Karjalaan jääneet ("Those Left in Karelia")
  • Vakaumuksensa puolesta kuolleet ("Those Who Died for Their Conviction")
  • Katkotut kahleet ("Broken Chains")
