International discussion forum focusing on the security of the Arctic region will be held in Finland

The Finnish Defence Forces organizes an international Arctic Security Forces Roundtable (ASFR) in Turku on 25–27 April 2023. The event will be hosted by the Deputy Chief of Staff, Strategy, Major General Janne Jaakkola. ASFR is co-chaired by the United States and Norway.

The Arctic Security Forces Roundtable (ASFR) is a discussion forum established in 2010 by the United States and Norway, which focuses on the security and cooperation in the Arctic region, especially from a military perspective.

Representatives from 11 countries will participate in the forum: The United States, Canada, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and the Netherlands.
