Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces to the NATO Military Committee Conference in Norway
The Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces, General Timo Kivinen, will participate the annual conference of the NATO Military Committee in Oslo, Norway on 15–17 September.
At the NATO Military Committee's conference, the NATO countries' chiefs of defense will participate, with the Supreme Commander of the Swedish Armed Forces as an observer member. In addition to the Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces, Finland's military representative to the EU and NATO, Lieutenant General Kim Jäämeri, will also participate in the conference.
At the NATO Military Committee conference, the Chiefs of Defence will discuss the military-strategic development of the alliance and the implementation of the decisions of the NATO summit in Vilnius. The theme of the conference is strengthening of NATO's collective defence and deterrence in the long term. The Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces will also participate in the meeting of the Chiefs of Defense of Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) countries held in connection with the conference.
