Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces to Sweden

The Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces, General Timo Kivinen, participates in a Chiefs of Defence meeting for the countries that are part of the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) 14 – 15 February 2022 in Luleå.

The aim of the UK-led JEF is to develop and maintain the military capabilities of the participating countries and, if necessary, to enable cooperation in the event of a crisis. Defense chiefs meet regularly. The meeting in Sweden will be chaired by General Mikael Bydén, Commander-in-Chief of the Swedish Armed Forces, together with the UK's Chief of Defence, Admiral Sir Tony Radakin.

Major General Janne Jaakkola, Head of Planning at the Defence Command Finland, and the Aide-the -Camp of the Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Annukka Ylivaara, will attend the meeting.
