Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces to attend the meeting of the EU Military Committee in Spain
The Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces, General Timo Kivinen, will attend the meeting of the European Union Military Committee in Seville, Spain, on 17–18 October.
The meeting of the European Union Military Committee is attended by the Chiefs of Defence of the Armed Forces of the EU Member States. The meeting will discuss topical issues related to the security situation and defence.
The Finnish Defence Forces will also be represented by Lieutenant General Kim Jäämeri, Finland's military representative in the European Union and NATO.
The European Union Military Committee (EUMC) manages all EU military activities, in particular the planning and conduct of military operations and operations under the Common Security and Defence Policy and the development of military capabilities. The Committee issues military positions to the EU's Political and Security Committee and recommendations on military matters.
