Chief of Defence Command visited Ukraine

Chief of Defence Command, Lieutenant General Vesa Virtanen visited Ukraine with Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen.

As part of the programme differentiated from that of the Minister, Lieutenant General Virtanen met Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Anatolii Barhylevych. The topics discussed involved the situation on the battlefield as well as various opportunities of Finland to support Ukraine.

"Finland supports the Armed Forces of Ukraine among other by providing materiel and participating in training of troops. Our discussion confirmed the current materiel needs of Ukraine and also showed that our previous support has been useful. We continue close and long-term co-operation with the Armed Forces of Ukraine," says Lieutenant General Virtanen.
