Brigadier General Tero Ylitalo appointed as Chief of the Logistics Command
Brigadier General Tero Ylitalo accepted the duties of Chief of the Finnish Defence Forces Logistics Command in Tampere on 31st October.
Brigadier General Ylitalo accepted the duties of Chief of the Logistics Command from Major General Jari Mikkonen. Mikkonen, who served in the position since June 2022, is transferring to the position of Deputy Chief of Staff, Armaments and Logistics of the Finnish Defence Forces.
Brigadier General Ylitalo has previously served as, for example, the Chief of Planning of the Defence Command Finland, Deputy Chief of Staff of Army Operations and Commander of the Armored Brigade.
The Finnish Defence Forces Logistics Command, established in 2015, celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2025. Logistics Command is responsible for materiel acquisitions for the Finnish Defence Forces, the operational capability of troops, personnel and systems and the usability of materiel. The Logistics Command employs approximately 2300 employees, and it operates throughout the country.
