The Finnish Navy Command hosted the BALTOPS 2026 planning meeting in Turku 14. – 16.4.2026.

BALTOPS is one of NATO's largest annual exercises in the Baltic Sea. BALTOPS 2026 will take place from June 4 to 19, 2026, as part of the NATO Arctic Sentry umbrella, and will be led by the U.S. 6th Fleet in conjunction with STRIKFORNATO.

Nearly 160 exercise planners from several different allied countries gathered in Turku to prepare for the exercise. The key areas of focus in the planning were surface and submarine defense, amphibious operations, and air defense. The U.S. 6th Fleet and STRIKFORNATO were responsible for conducting the planning meeting.
