A detachment from the United States Marine Corps, a combination of subordinate units from II Marine Expeditionary Force (II MEF) has arrived in Finland and will train together with Nyland Brigade until the end of August. 16.9.2025 | The Chief of the United States National Guard Bureau, General Steven S. Nordhaus, visited Finland 14-16 September. The visit was hosted by the Chief of Defence Command Finland, Lieutenant General Vesa Virtanen. The programme included a meeting with the Commander of the Defence Forces, General Janne Jaakkola, and General Nordhaus also visited the Coastal Brigade in Upinniemi. 9.6.2025 | General Bryan P. Fenton, Commander of the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), visited Finland on 7 June. The visit was hosted by Lieutenant General Kari Nisula, Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations of the Finnish Defence Forces. 7.4.2025 | The Commander of the Finnish Air Force visited Lockheed Martin's F-35 production line in Fort Worth and the Ebbing Air National Guard Base in Fort Smith at the end of March. 26.10.2023 | A detachment from the United States Marine Corps, Combat Logistics Battalion 6 has arrived in Finland for a time of approximately two months. The detachment will train together with Nyland Brigade from the end of October until the beginning of December.
