This time, the Navy is piloting a procedure exercise for the virtual training environment for trainees to practise situations involving damages on a vessel in a setting that simulates reality.

Captain (N) Sauli Rimmanen will assume the duties of Commander of the Coastal Fleet on 1 February 2025. Rimmanen will transfer to the task from Navy Command Finland where he has been serving as Chief of Staff. The change of command ceremony will be held at Pansio Base on 30 January 2025.

24.7.2025 | Since autumn 2023, three Norwegian student pilots have been studying at the Air Force Academy, concluding their Hawk training phase in May. Next, they will proceed to F‑35 training in the United States.

30.6.2025 | New recruits will begin their military service in Finnish Defence Forces and Border Guard units on Monday, 7 July. Approximately 12,500 recruits will start their service in contingent 2/25.

7.2.2024 | Deputy Commander of Joint Force Command Norfolk, Rear Admiral Tim Henry visited Finland from 5 to 6 February 2024. The programme included visits in Defence Command Finland and the Army Command. In the Defence Command, the visit was hosted by the Chief of the Defence Command, Lieutenant General Vesa Virtanen. In the Army Command, the visit was hosted by the Commander of the Finnish Army, Lieutenant General Pasi Välimäki.

29.7.2024 | The Finnish Air Force's first major NATO deployment to Romania succeeded as planned and achieved its objectives. F/A-18 Hornet fighter jets returned to Finland on 29 July 2024. Most of the personnel will return to Finland later this week, and the detachment's material will follow in August.
