General Lindberg to visit Belgium
The Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces, General Jarmo Lindberg, will take part in the meeting of the European Union Military Committee (EUMC) to be held in Brussels from 24 to 25 October. The meeting will be attended by senior military commanders of member states of the European Union.
The committee convenes twice a year to discuss, among other things, EU-led crisis management operations, the Union's security strategy and comprehensive security as well as the development of European security from a military point of view.
During his visit, General Lindberg will also meet leadership of the European Defence Agency and discuss current issues with personnel working in Finland's Permanent Representation to the European Union.
In addition to advisers working in Finland's Representation, the General will be accompanied in the meetings and appointments by Finland's military representative to the EU, Rear Admiral Juha Vauhkonen, as well as by his ADC, Major Antti Rajahalme.
