The Commander of the Defence Forces, General Timo Kivinen, will make a planned working visit to the United States between 20th and 25th March 2023.
During the visit, General Kivinen will meet with the leadership of U.S. Armed Forces Command at the Pentagon and the Force Commands (U.S. CENTRAL COMMAND, U.S. SPECIAL OPERATIONS COMMAND). Geneal Kivinen will also visit the Lockheed Martin F-35 fighter assembly plant.
In addition, General Kivinen will visit and meet with the leadership of NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (HQ SACT) and the Joint Force Command Norfolk (JFCNF) Liaison Staff.
The meetings and discussions related to the visit will cover issues such as defence cooperation between Finland and the United States, military preparations for Finland's NATO membership and the global security situation.
