The Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces, General Timo Kivinen, will participate in the Chiefs' of Defence Meeting of the Nordic and Baltic Countries 8 - 9 February 2022 in Riga.
The meeting discusses defence cooperation between the Nordic and Baltic countries and the security situation in the region. The responsibility for hosting a meeting once a year is circulating. This year the meeting was chaired by Latvia's Chief of Defence, Lieutenant General Leonīds Kalniņš.
From the Finnish Defence Forces the meeting was attended by the Chief Head of Planning of the Defence Command, Major General Janne Jaakkola and The Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces Aide-the-camp, Lieutenant Colonel Annukka Ylivaara.
