Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces to the Commemoration of the Jaegers

The commander of the Finnish Defence Forces, General Timo Kivinen, attends a commemoration event of the Jaegers in Hohenlockstedt, Germany, February 28-29.

General Kivinen holds main speech at the commemoration. This year, it is the 105th anniversary since the jaeger training began. The first voluntary Finns arrived at the camp in Lockstedt 25.2.1915.

The event is organized by Hohenlockstedt municipality. In addition to the local population, Finnish and German reservists, residents of Northern Germany and Finnish friends living in Northern Germany. The event also goes by the name Finnentag, Finns Day.

The commander of the Finnish Defence Forces is accompanied by the Deputy Chief of Staff Operations, Major General Pasi Välimäki, Finland's Defence Attaché in Germany Colonel Marko Kivelä and the Aide-de-Camp to Chief of Defence, Major Annukka Ylivaara.
