FDF Summer Tour 2022 in Turku

In June 2022, the Finnish Defence Forces’ Summer Tour will offer a chance to listen to great music and familiarise with the Finnish Defence Forces’ activity and equipment in altogether 12 cities across Finland. In these events, you can familiarise with the Finnish Defence Forces’ activity and equipment, service available for persons liable for military service and recruitment, as well as voluntary national defence. The events will feature military music branch’s concerts performed by the Air Force Big Band with Heikki Silvennoinen, military bands, and Souls of Women trio, as well as a 20-conscript strong Show Band of the FDF Conscript Band. The event has free admission, welcome!

On Thursday 2.6.2022 at 14:00-22:00
Turku, Forum Marinum

At 14:00-17:30, the equipment display will be available for familiarization. At 14:00-16:30, vessels will be observable by Läntinen Rantakatu, in the area between Forum Marinum and Varvintori market square.

The concert will feature

• at 18:00 the Air Force Big Band with Heikki Silvennoinen as their soloist
• at 19:00 the Navy Band and Souls of Women trio by Iina Mutikainen, Klaara Koivunen and Emilia Vihanto 
• at 20:00 the Show Band of the Finnish Defence Forces’ Conscript Band

The concert will end at around 21:00.

The Soldier’s Home Association will be available at 14:00-22:00.

How to get there 
By foot, you can access the event location along Linnankatu from the direction of the city. By public transport, you can opt for taking any of the buses running in the direction of the harbor and Turku castle.
If by car, please use the parking available along streets, in Harppuunakortteli and by Turku harbour (for a fee). No parking is available at Forum Marinum.
