The Order of the Polar Star to General Lindberg

The Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces, General Jarmo Lindberg will travel to Sweden for an official visit on 19 March 2018 where he will receive The Order of the Polar Star bestowed by the King of Sweden Carl XVI Gustav.

The Order of the Polar Star (Swedish: Nordstjärneorden) is a Swedish order of chivalry created by King Frederick I on 23 February 1748. The order is only awarded to foreigners and members of the royal family. It is often awarded to foreign office holders during Swedish state visits. The King of Sweden Carl XVI Gustav will personally hand over the decoration to general Lindberg.

General Lindberg will also meet the the host of the visit, Commander of the Swedish Armed Forces, General Micael Bydén. The Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces will be accompanied by his Aid de Camp, Major Antti Rajahalme.
