Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces will make a working visit to the United Kingdom

The Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces, General Timo Kivinen will participate in the meeting of the Chiefs of Defence of the countries members of the UK-led Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) from 7 to 8 November 2019.

The objective of the cooperation built around the JEF is to provide support to the development and maintenance of the military capabilities of the participating nations. Finland joined the Joint Expeditionary Force on 30 June 2017. The participating nations’ Chiefs of Defence have had two meetings.

After the JEF meeting, General Kivinen will meet bilaterally with the British Chief of Defence Staff, General Nick Carter.

In addition to the Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces, Finland will be represented by the Finnish Defence Attaché in the United Kingdom, Colonel Pasi Saarikoski and the Chief of Defence's ADC, Major Annukka Ylivaara.
