The Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces, General Jarmo Lindberg, will participate in a counter-terrorism meeting hosted by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Joseph Dunford, on 16 October 2018. This meeting will be a continuation of a meeting organised last autumn in which General Lindberg participated with commanders of other countries’ armed forces. This meeting will look at the current state of combating terrorism and what actions will be taken in the future.

After the meetings, General Lindberg will head for Alaska to inspect the Finnish Air Force detachment deployed to the international Red Flag 18 Exercise from 17 to 18 October 2018 in Alaska. This is the first time the Finnish Air Force takes part in a Red Flag exercise.

The Commander will participate in the meeting accompanied by the Deputy Chief of Staff Operations, Lieutenant General Eero Pyötsiä. The Commander's ADC, Major Antti Rajahalme will also accompany the Commander on the journey.
