Press release

The Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces, General Jarmo Lindberg, has been invited to take part in the meeting hosted by the Commander of European Command and Supreme Allied Commander Europe, General Curtis Scaparrotti, held in Germany on 26 April 2017. The meeting will be attended by European chiefs of defence.

The meeting is a follow-up meeting to the one held in Washington DC in 2016. General Lindberg attended that meeting as well, together with other chiefs of defence from around the world. This regional meeting brings together European chiefs of defence to assess the current situation in the fight against terrorism and of possible measures from a military point of view.

The Finnish commander will be accompanied by the deputy chief of staff operations, Major General Eero Pyötsiä, and the commander's ADC, Major Timo Ronkainen.
