The Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces, General Jarmo Lindberg, will host the meeting of Nordic and Baltic chiefs of defence in Finland on 26 January 2017.
The CHODs of Norway, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden, Denmark and Estonia or their representatives are invited and will participate in this meeting that is arranged annually in turn by the participating counties.
The objective of the meeting is to discuss the security of the Baltic Sea area and cooperation between the Nordic and Baltic countries.
In addition to its host General Lindberg, also the Finnish Defence Forces' Deputy Chief of Staff Strategy, Lieutenant General Timo Kivinen, and Deputy Chief of Staff Operations, Major General Eero Pyötsiä, along with the necessary experts from Defence Command Finland will participate in the meeting.
The preceding meeting was arranged in Estonia at the beginning of 2016.
