The Standing NATO Mine-countermeasures Group 1 (SNMCMG1) pays a routine visit to Helsinki for the period of 25th to 28th of November 2016.

Standing Nato Mine Countermeasures Group 1

The multinational Mine-countermeasures Group will berth at slot LHB at the cruiser pier in the West Harbour, Henry Fordin katu 5, where the vessels will be open to the public on Saturday 26 November from 9.30 to 11.00 and on Sunday 27 November from 10.00 to 12.00.

The purpose of this harbour visit is amongst others logistic replenishment and preparation for the upcoming time at sea.

The Commander of the 4th Mine Counter-measures Squadron, Commander Kristian Isberg, will host the visit and the host ship will be MHC Purunpää. The Finnish Navy will carry out a Passex exercise with the SNMCMG1 upon its departure.

The SNMCMG1 consists of the following vessels:

- German Flagship FGS ELBE (A511)
- Lithuanian MCM Vessel LNS SKALVIS (M53),
- Latvian MCM Vessel LVNS IMANTA (M-04),
- Norwegian MCM Vessel HNOMS MÅLÖY (M342),
- Belgian MCM Vessel BNS NARCIS (M923),
- British MCM Vessel HMS GRIMSBY (M108)
- Netherlands MCM Vessel HNLMS VLAARDINGEN (M863)
